Last Saturday, we had a Friendship party at SHIMURA 3 CHOME.

It was expected that only few residents join the party due to the late announcement of having a party at there.
As my expectation, when I arrived at the house, Hiropon(Sakura House staff) and Talaiti-san(Resident) were the only person who at there. (^^;)

It was thought that the party at Shimura 3 Chome would be a lonely party at the beginning
even though it was planed for the friendship party.

But unexpectedly, as times go by, more residents came to the house and the party became a party enough to be called as a "Friendship party"!
Late participants were the residents from Shimura 3chome B.

So then, the party was international.  participants were Japanese, Chinese, Mexican, Philipino and French.

We introduced ourselves and had a fun chatting.

Tomorrow is the big day, I mean for those who will be taking the new Japanese test.

Well the authority said N1 is even more difficult than the previous Level 1, who knows? I'm gonna give them my best shot

Probably many of you who are staying with us will be doing the test as well. Good Luck and let's kick some serious butt!
Got some funny stuff to show everyone today.

One is mine and the other belongs to a housemate in the Omori Sakura House who is practicing Aikido and Iaido(a sword martial art...i think) in Japan. Can you see the carvings on the phone on the right? She claims that she got tired of the smooth edges on the phone. The black tape is stuck on there because she carved it too deep. Very creative design.

Now look at this, it's an ice bagel. Never seen this in my life! Only in Japan would you find such creativity in food. Unfortunately, I didn't get to taste it so I'm not able to tell you how it was.

Wow, the second week of my internship at Sakura House is already over... I can't believe it.
The last couple of days were quite busy at the office. So yesterday Christina and I, we got to help signing the contracts, which was really interesting. Furthermore we were checking some move out notices, which took forever because there are so many houses and residents...but it is actually fun to do something productive and useful.

After to weeks I kind of got used to work full time again, but without the Tully's Coffee right across the street of the headquarters I could not survive....

Without my enormous amount of coffee I would do exactly the same as these guys....

Hi everyone! Yesterday we visited the Hatagaya Hotel just to get to know the Sakura group a little bit better. Firstly, we had lunch at the Hatagaya cafe, which is obviously part of the hotel. Before I start describing the hotel, I think its good to know that I came to Japan to experience a different culture, and not just go to another place with a western culture with just a different climate, that is why I really enjoyed the hotel. Its a hotel which would not fit (literally) in the western society, which to me is a good thing. It started with the elevator, which couldn't take more than five people, so three had to take the stairs. Then when we entered the room I knew right away that it would be great for people who want to experience Japan. Its a small room, and whereas with other rooms I just have to bend over slightly to get through the door, in this room I couldn't even fit through the door in width! That is not a negative remark, its just an observation which I found great, since in the Netherlands everything is a lot bigger.

(Tom and myself showing how small the doorway actually is.)

In the end I can say it was a good experience to see what a Japanese hotel looks like. Tomorrow we're visiting another hotel, hotel Asakusa, and I'm really looking forward to it.
